April Torres, 25 passed away Saturday, January 7, 2017 at Brownfield Regional Medical Center. Services for Mrs. Torres will be 10:30 am Wednesday, January 11, 2017 at San Ramon Catholic Church with Father Joy Thachil officiating. Burial will follow at Green Memorial Cemetery in Wilson under the direction of Broadway Funeral Directors. A rosary will be held 6:00 pm Tuesday, January 10, 2017 at The Chapel of Broadway Funeral Directors.
April was born May 31, 1991 in Lubbock to Leo & Martina Torres Jr. She graduated with honors from New Home High School and later completed her associates degree in criminal justice at Vista College. As a resident of New Home for most of her life, April enjoyed playing basketball, watching her favorite team, The Philadelphia Eagles and spending time with her family.
She is survived by her husband, Rey Munoz of Brownfield; her son, Bentley Rey Munoz of Brownfield; her parents, Leo & Martina Torres Jr. of New Home; one brother, Leo Torres III of New Home; grandparents, Leo & Otilia Torres Sr., Janie & Joe Segura; her Godparents, Domingo & Sandra Tijerina; and her in-laws; Benny & Lucinda Munoz.
She is preceded in death by her grandfather, Sonny Moreno; great grand parents, Jose M & Domiana Torres.
