Arthur Domingo Zapata

Arthur Domingo Zapata, passed away on June 6th, 2023 at the age of 50. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend to many.

Arthur was born in Lubbock on November 17, 1972 to Domingo & Seferina Zapata. He attended local schools and then began his career in painting houses. He took great pride in his work and was known for doing a thorough job working tirelessly to provide for his family.

Arthur had a kind and gentle personality that made him loved by everyone he met. What he enjoyed most in life was spending time with his family and he made sure to take a vacation with them every year. Arthur had many interests outside of work which included fishing, fighting roosters and was a huge Dallas Cowboys fan.

His proudest accomplishment was marrying the love of his life Alice Rodriguez on February 17th, 1990, in Lubbock. Spending over thirty years together they created a beautiful life filled with love and laughter that will continue to inspire those around them.
He will be deeply missed by all who knew him but our hearts are warmed by memories that will remain with us forever.

Arthur is survived by his wife Alice Rodriguez; his mother Seferina Zapata; his daughters, Clarissa Zapata, Aryanna Zapata, Justyne Zapata; his son, A.J. Zapata; two brothers, Richard Zapata, Jimmy Zapata,  two sisters, Maria Serna, Lisa Zapata, and granddaughters Audri and Zaiden Zapata.

He is preceded in death by his father, Domingo Zapata and one brother, Albert Rodriguez.

A rosary will be held at Broadway Funeral Directors on June 11, 2023, at 6 PM. Funeral mass will be 2:00 pm Monday, June 12th at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church.  All arrangements were made under the direction of Broadway Funeral Directors.
