Benjamin “Ben” Valencia was born January 9, 1942 in Grand Falls to Leandro & Ursula Valencia. He married Araseli Anaya in 1961 in Big Spring and worked as a foreman for The City of Lubbock and Hamilton Construction for many years. He enjoyed working on race cars, racing, hunting, fishing and all types of carpentry. He was a faithful member of St Joseph Catholic Church where he served as an usher and was always willing to help whomever he could regardless of how long he knew you. Above all, he loved his family, and spending time with them was always something he looked forward to.
On the afternoon of March 7, 2020, surrounded by family, Benjamin Valencia went to be with his Lord. Those left to cherish his loving memory are his sons, Martin Valencia, Roman Valencia both of Lubbock; his daughter, Matilda Valencia of Ft. Worth; three brothers, Reymundo Valencia, Fidel Valencia, Ventura Valencia both of Bakersfield, CA; one sister, Lucy Valencia of Bakersfield, CA; four grandchildren; one great grandchild
He is preceded in death by his loving wife, Araseli Valencia
