Catherine Brisco, 73, the oldest of 10 siblings, went to be with the Lord on April 17, 2021. She was born November 4th, 1947 in College Station, Texas to Lessie Lee Gilbert.
Catherine spent her career in the food services industry, where she was a local celebrity. People came from all over the region to taste her decadent cinnamon rolls, peach cobbler, and savory turkey & dressing. As she would tell you, “they are good enough to make you slap your mama, unless you’re one of her kids!” She worked 25+ years in the Lubbock Independent School District, and 10+ years at Covenant Health System. There was not a single thing more important in life to Catherine than her family. Having everyone over for Thanksgiving, cooking a huge meal, followed by a spades & domino tournament, and blues playing in the background was absolute nirvana!
She is preceded in death by her husband Charles Brisco, Son Michael Brisco, her mother, Lessie Lee Gilbert, one grandson, Michael Deshaun Brisco, and son in law, Alan Scott.
She is survived by her son James Brisco & his wife Betty, and grandchildren, Malcolm Stone, Dominique & Isaiah Brisco; daughter Tammy Scott; daughter in Law Melissa Kempf Brisco & granddaughter Zoe Brisco, daughter Brenda Wallace & Husband Michael, & granddaughter Jordyn Wallace; son Greg Brisco & wife Tamieka Brisco
