Celia Moreno

March 29, 1942 — March 5, 2022

Celia “Sally” Moreno ,79, was born March 29, 1942, in Yorktown to Manuel & Esperanza Moreno.  She worked as a presser for many years before retiring and enjoyed sewing, cooking, baking and going to bingo.  Her favorite things were reading True Crime, telling stories of her childhood and more than all, spending time with her family and children.

On the evening of March 5, 2022, Celia Moreno was called from this earth. Those left to cherish her memory are her sons, Jesse Moreno, Gilbert Moreno & wife Sylvia, Gerardo Trejo all of Lubbock; two daughters, Maryann Herschaft of New Jersey, Nancy Hosek of Yoakum; three brothers, Daniel Moreno, Manuel Moreno, Ruben Moreno all of Seguin; six sisters, Christine Rosales of Corpus, Esperanza Flores of CA, Adelina Moreno of Seguin, Gloria Ybarra of Lubbock, Enriqueta Sanchez of Corpus, Lydia Villareal of Seguin; fourteen grandchildren; thirty-two great grandchildren.

She preceded in death by a daughter, Alice Garcia; one sister, Amelia Alonzo and two brothers, Domingo Moreno, Gilbert Moreno.

Services for Sally will be 2:00 pm Thursday, March 10, 2022, at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church with Father Martin Pina officiating. Burial will follow in Peaceful Gardens Cemetery under the direction of Broadway Funeral Directors. A rosary will be held 7:00 pm Wednesday, March 9, 2022, in The Chapel of Broadway Funeral Directors with visitation starting at 9:00 am.
