Cesareo Melendez

Cesareo Melendez, 90, passed away Tuesday, May 16, 2017 at his residence. Services for Mr. Melendez will be 10:00 AM, Saturday, May 20, 2017 in The Chapel of Broadway Funeral Directors with Dr. Robert Ordonez officiating. Burial will follow in Resthaven Memorial Park under the direction of Broadway Funeral Directors. A prayer service will be will held 6:00 pm, Friday May 19, 2017 at The Chapel of Broadway Funeral Directors.

Cesareo was born September 27, 1926 in Santa Rita del Rucio, Mexico to Ruperto and Irene Melendez. He married Priscilina Melendez on April 20, 1961 in Monterrey.  He was a hard working farmer, loving husband & father who loved his family dearly.  He enjoyed being outdoors tending to his garden and taking care of his cows and pigs.

He is survived by his wife, Prisciliana Melendez of Lubbock; three sons, Cesareo Melendez Jr. of Brownfield, David Melendez, Noe Melendez both of Lubbock; five daughters, Juana Melendez San Miguel of Lubbock, Yolanda Sanchez of Meadow, Elva Cepeda of Amarillo, Emma Beasley of Oklahoma and Lili Melendez of Lubbock.

Twenty one grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
