Darvin Wayne McLearen, born on February 9, 1949, in Gorman, Texas, passed away peacefully in Lubbock Texas, on October 5, 2024. Darvin's journey through life was marked by dedication to his family and a strong work ethic that saw him build a remarkable career as a parts salesman.
Starting in 1972, Darvin began working at D.C. Wrecking, where he forged lasting relationships in the industry until 1980. His journey continued at AAA Wrecking, a career path he followed until 1992. Darvin finally found his home at B&R Auto Parts, where he dedicated himself until his retirement in 2010. His passion for automobiles was reflected not just in his work but also in his personal life, as he enjoyed tinkering with his cherished 1967 Chevelle.
Beyond his professional achievements, Darvin was a devoted family man. He is survived by his two sons and their wives, Jimmy and Kerri McLearen, Clifton and Valarie McLearen, all of whom continue to cherish the values he instilled in them. He leaves behind the love of two sisters and their husbands, Geneva and Larry Durham of Lubbock, and Gayle and James King of Austin, who also greatly valued their time with him. His legacy carries on through three adoring grandchildren, who were a constant source of joy in his life.
Darvin had a passion for life, often found enjoying classic western films or spending quality time with his family. It was in these moments that the love he carried in his heart shone the brightest. Wayne never met a stranger as he had many friends, and he was always willing to lend a helping hand when any of those friends were in need.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Christine Hinson; his beloved grandson, Dustin McLearen; one brother, Lonnie McLearen, and Rita Susan Hawkins, the mother of his two sons. Each of them left an indelible mark on his life and were cherished deeply.
A graveside service to honor Darvin's life will be held on October 18, 2024, at 10:00 AM at Resthaven Memorial Park in Lubbock, Texas. Friends and family are invited to join in celebrating the life of a remarkable man who will be dearly missed.
