Don Morris Balentine

Don Morris Balentine, 82, was born November 4, 1940, in Cooper to Morris James & Ruby Florence Balentine.  He joined the Army a little late in life but was able to obtain a career that lasted him the rest of his life as an aircraft engineer. He worked for many companies including General Dynamics, Lockheed and Bell Helicopter. Don also raised & raced homing pigeons, would make his own pool sticks, and was very good at playing billiards as well.  He also enjoyed watching baseball but more than anything, Don loved spending time with his family and friends.

On April 14, 2023, Don Morris Balentine was called from this earth.  Those left to cherish his memory are his daughter, Susan Leffler of Arkansas; one brother, Paul Balentine and wife Peggy of Amarillo; three grandchildren; eight great grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Waltraud "Trudy" Balentine; a son, Gary Don Balentine; two brothers, James & Eddy Balentine.

A graveside service will be held at 12:00 pm Tuesday, April 18, 2023, in The City of Lubbock Cemetery with Chris Ortega officiating. Visitation will be from 10:30 am to 11:30 am in The Chapel of Broadway Funeral Directors.  All arrangements were made under the direction of Broadway Funeral Directors.
