Dustin Cole Dempsey was born to Greg and Ranai Dempsey on November 18, 1993 in Lubbock, Texas. On February 11, 2020 at the young age of twenty-six, Mr. Dempsey passed on from this world.
He grew up in Littlefield, Texas and attended school in Spade and Littlefield. Dustin enjoyed many activities, he was a member and active in Christ the King Cathedral in Lubbock, where he worshiped and loved to sing. He was a member and active in the Littlefield Junior High and High School Band playing the Coronet. He was active in the Boy Scouts, played baseball in a youth league, loved going to Texas Tech football games and cheering on the Dallas Cowboys. He enjoyed going to the lake with his family to boat, fish, cookout and camp and stay in the travel trailer. Dustin was a young man who never met a stranger and was known for his outgoing nature and love of meeting and visiting with people. He loved to collect keychains, hats, coozies, shirts,lanyards and books.
In keeping with Dustin’s loving and generous spirit, he gave the Gift of Life and his gift has restored life’s promise for others.
He is survived by his Parents: Greg and Ranai Dempsey of Littlefield;siblings Destiny Dempsey of Mechanicsburg Pennsylvania, Devan and wife Rachel Dempsey of Okinawa, Japan, and Denai Dempsey of Littlefield; his Grandmother Pauline Poff of Kerrville; uncles Larry Dale Dempsey of Groesbeck, Rudy and wife Tony Thiel,David and wife Lizz Thiel, Bernie and wife Cynthia Thiel, Leo and wife Tina Thiel all of Lubbock; aunts Charlotte Dempsey of Kerrville, Maria and husband Scott Davis of Kyle, Tammie and husband Fabian Belgara, Theresa Lozano, Margaret and husband Gary Smith, Aileen and husband Doug Everrett all of Lubbock.
Funeral Mass for Mr. Dempsey will be 11:30 am Saturday, February 15, 2020 at Christ the King Cathedral with Father John Ohlig officiating. Burial will follow in Peaceful Gardens Memorial Park under the direction of Broadway Funeral Directors. The family will have a rosary 7:00 pm Friday, February 14, 2020 at Broadway Funeral Directors with visitation starting at 2:30 pm the same day.
In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to The Fighting Wildcat Spirit Scholarship. Donations can be mailed to the address at P.O. Box 961, Littlefield, TX 79339.
