Eufemia Lopez Barrera, known for her unwavering love for her family and her green thumb, passed away on June 16, 2024, in Lubbock, Texas. She was born on September 16, 1924, in Calvin, Texas to Cresencio & Alejandra Camarillo but was raised by her loving parents, Ventura and Luz Lopez.
Throughout her life, Eufemia found joy in the simple pleasures of tending to her yard, nurturing her beautiful flowers, and creating delicious meals for her loved ones. Her home was always filled with warmth and the comforting of her cooking. She also cherished the outdoors and took delight in feeding the birds that visited her property.
In the hearts of those who knew Eufemia, she leaves behind a legacy of love and kindness. She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Domingo Barrera; her daughter, Guadalupe Barrera; her daughter-in-law, Erika Barrera; five brothers: Luis, Joe, Cipriano, John, Charlie and Victor Lopez; as well as two sisters: Lola Garcia and Mary Rojas.
She will be deeply missed and forever remembered by her son, Rick Barrera and his wife Nicole; three daughters: Maria Antonia Mendez, Esmeralda Davis, Orlanda Barrera; one sister, Rosa Rodriguez; eleven grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; and twelve great-great-grandchildren.
Services for Eufemia' will be 10:00 am Friday, June 21, 2024 in The Chapel of Broadway Funeral Directors with Deacon Santos Chavez officiating. Burial will follow in Peaceful Gardens Memorial Park under the direction of Broadway Funeral Directors. A rosary will be held 7:30 pm Thursday, June 20, 2024, in The Chapel of Broadway Funeral Directors with visitation starting at 2:00 pm.
