Francis Salas, 88, was born November 1, 1933, in Aspermont, TX to Dan & Teresa Rodriguez. She married Eliseo Salas Sr. on March 29, 1956, in Seguin, TX and was a home maker for most her life. Apart from the normal things most grandmas enjoyed, like cooking and quilting, Francis went the extra mile as she enjoyed fishing, going to casinos, and unlike most, was known to be an amazing cook. Her big heart gave her the ability to love her family and more importantly, love God. She was a lifelong Guadalupana, member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Crosbyton and helped faithfully in each Jamaica they had. In the words of her family, “she was the best mother and a great grandmother anyone could ever have”.
On the morning of September 13, 2022, Francis Salas was called from this earth to be with her eternal savior. Those left to cherish her memory are her five sons, Eliseo & Mabel Salas, Eloy & Lorena Salas, John & Sara Salas. Felix & Carmen Salas, Dan & Julie Salas; one daughter, Eva & Frank Guzman; a son-in-law, Andres Garses Sr.; one sister, Lupia Rivera; twenty-seven grandchildren and numerous great & great great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Eliseo Salas (2015), a son, Rick Salas Sr.; one daughter, Elena Garses and one grandson, Pvt. Rick Salas Jr.; eight sisters, Anita Sandoval, Ramona Salas, Teresa Zundt, Sara Vigil, Brigida Canales, Luisa Flores, Concepcion Flores; three brothers, Domingo Rodriguez, Bill Rodriguez, and Santiago Rodriguez.
