Fred Gomez

Fred Gomez, a beloved son, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away on July 10, 2024, in his hometown of Lubbock. He was born on April 6, 1964, to his loving parents Pablo and Victoria Gomez in the same city.

Fred's presence on this earth was a gift to all who knew him. He had a life filled with passion for sports, particularly football - often seen cheering on his favorite team, the Dallas Cowboys. His enthusiasm for life extended beyond the sports field; he adored spending time with his family and grandchildren and knew how to bring joy to any gathering with his infectious energy.

In Fred's journey through life, he shared special bonds with his family and friends that will be cherished forever. He is preceded in death by his father, Pablo Gomez, whose legacy Fred carried forward with love and respect.

He leaves behind a legacy of love and memories that will be forever treasured by his surviving family members. He is survived by his devoted mother, Victoria Gomez; his children Paul Steven Gomez of Lubbock, Stephanie Hinojosa and husband Don Rey of Petersburg; two brothers, Steven Gomez and wife Michelle of Plano, Edward Gomez and wife Andrea from Arlington; his sister, Olivia Martinez and husband Robert of Lubbock; as well as his two cherished grandchildren Noah Hinojosa and Lucian Hinojosa. Additionally, Fred is survived by ten nieces and nephews who held a special place in his heart.

A memorial mass for Mr. Gomez will be 10:00 am Saturday, July 20, 2024, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church with Father Pina officiating. A rosary will be held shortly after the service in the Chapel as well.  

As we mourn the loss of Fred Gomez from our lives, let us celebrate the love he shared and the joy he brought to all who knew him. May his spirit live on through the memories we hold dear in our hearts. Rest in peace, Fred.
