Genaro Martinez

Genaro L. Martinez, 93, was born July 10, 1928, in Campbellton, Tx to Jose V. & Florencia Martinez.  He worked as a landscaper, he loved everything about his profession from being outdoors to taking care of lawns and making sure everything was healthy.  Genaro also enjoyed woodworking and owned an assortment of tools giving him the ability to fix and make amazing things. More than anything, Genaro loved spending time with his friends, family and grandchildren.

On September 18, 2021, Genaro Lopez Martinez was called home.  Those left to cherish his memory are his son, Genaro Martinez Jr. of Lubbock; two daughters, Rosalinda M. Rios, Celia M. Perales both of Lubbock; two brothers, Lalo L. Martinez of Dimmit, Jose Angel L. Martinez of CO; three sisters, Maria Martinez of Dimmit, Lucia Fuentes of FL, Rebecca Davis of Abernathy; thirteen grandchildren; twenty great grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by two sons, Rosendo Martinez, David Martinez; four brothers, Bernardo L. Martinez, Margarito L. Martinez, Santos L. Martinez, Juan L. Martinez; two sisters, Sara M. Aguirre, Anita M. Carranco.

Services for Mr. Martinez will be 10:00 am Thursday, September 23, 2021, in The Chapel of Broadway Funeral Directors with Deacon Richard Martinez officiating.  Burial will be at The Castro County Memorial Gardens in Dimmit at 2:00 pm following the service.  A rosary will be held at Broadway Funeral Directors at 7:00 pm Wednesday, September 22, 2021, with visitation starting at 5:00 pm.
