Inez Nanez, a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend left this world on October 25, 2023, in Lubbock, Texas. She was surrounded by her loved ones as she peacefully transitioned to eternal rest.
Born in Nixon, Texas on April 20, 1936, Inez lived a remarkable life filled with love, compassion, and cherished memories. She was a kind-hearted woman who touched the lives of many through her gentle demeanor and selfless nature. Inez had a deep love for her family and friends and found immense joy in spending time with them. Her grandchildren held a special place in her heart, and she treasured every moment creating beautiful memories with them.
One of Inez's passions was gardening. She took great pride in her exquisite flowers and plants that bloomed with vibrant colors in her yard. Her green thumb was admired by all who visited her home. She also had a real talent for cooking delicious meals. She was known for her culinary skills and would often cook for others to share her love through food.
Inez was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Ralph Nanez; her four sons, John Cantu, Armando Cantu, Arturo Cantu, and Robby Cantu; her two brothers, Joe Garza and Lencho Garza; and her sister, Janie Lovato. While we mourn their loss as well, we find solace in knowing that Inez has reunited with them in the loving embrace of everlasting peace.
Inez is survived by her loving children: David Cantu, Joe Cantu, Chris Cantu, Dorothy Cantu, Becky Cantu, Julie Pena, Erica Torres; her dear sister Frances Stone and Lucy Gutierrez; twenty-four grandchildren who were the light of her life; numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. Inez's legacy will live on through each and every one of them as they carry forward the values she held close to her heart.
