Jose Luis Garsis, 63, was born November 09, 1959, in Lubbock to Jose and Luisa Garzez. He worked as a transmission specialist for most of his life and until recent with Joe Jackson Transmission where he was employed for over thirty years. He loved playing music and did so by playing bajo sexto and accordion with his band “Los Vaqueros de Texas” for many years. He was a good hardworking man who was also soft spoken and had a kind heart. Jose rarely met a stranger and he loved and cherished his family greatly.
In the early morning of March 19, 2023, Jose Luis Garsis was called from this earth and into the arms of his eternal father. Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of ten years, Angie Morales Garsis of Lubbock; five brothers, Miguel Garzez, Andres Garses, Armando Garses, Esteban Garses, Angel Garses all of Lubbock; two sisters, Janie Studler of Katy, Sylvia Barrera of Lubbock; two step-sons, Toby Trevino, Abel Trevino both of Lubbock; three step-daughters, Rachel Mendoza, Elvia Trevino, Vicki Trevino all of Lubbock and numerous step-grand and great grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Olga Quinones and Mary Garses.
Services for Mr. Garsis will be 10:00 am Wednesday, March 29, 2023, at St Patrick Catholic Church with Father Joseph Thanavelil officiating. Burial will follow at The City of Lubbock Cemetery under the direction of Broadway Funeral Directors. A rosary will be held 7:00 pm Tuesday, March 28, 2023, in the Chapel of Broadway Funeral Directors with visitation starting at 10:00 am.
