Josiah Michael Moreno, beloved son, brother, and friend passed away at the very young age of 19, on June 6, 2024, in Lubbock. He was born on February 23, 2005, in his hometown of Lubbock, Texas.
Josiah had an adventurous spirit and a warm heart. He graduated from Monterrey High School in 2023 and was currently pursuing his studies in Commerical Aviation at San Angelo University where in his first year, was honored by making the Dean’s list.
In his free time, Josiah indulged in his hobbies and interests. He had a deep love for sports, especially football, and enjoyed playing the game whenever he could. A loyal fan of Texas Tech Football and the Dallas Cowboys, he found joy in cheering on his favorite teams. Josiah also found happiness in quieter moments spent playing video games, hitting the gym to stay active, and savoring delicious cheeseburgers.
Josiah will be deeply missed by all who knew him. He is survived by his loving parents, Denys Suvia & Jose Arenivas, his father, Joseph Moreno & Stephanie Gaitan; his brother Joseph Jaylen Moreno; his sister, Josette Javen Moreno; one bonus sister, Erin Sanchez; his maternal grandparents, Norma Torres, Jesus Suvia; his paternal grandparents, Joe Moreno & Mary Baca, and his great grandmother, Mary Garza; his uncles, Freddy & Elaine Cruz, Matthew & Celina Moreno, Christopher Moreno; cousins, Ezra & Emery Cruz, Zack, Zoe, Amelia and Diego Moreno. Additionally, Josiah leaves behind his faithful canine companion, Zeeva.
The services to honor and remember Josiah will take place in the Chapel of Broadway Funeral Directors. Service will be 10:00 am Friday, June 14, 2024, followed by burial in Peaceful Gardens Memorial Park under the direction of Broadway Funeral Directors. A rosary will be held 7:00 pm Thursday, June 13, 2024, with visitation starting at 1:00 pm.
Josiah's kind spirit and zest for life touched many hearts during his time with us. May he rest in peace knowing he was loved deeply and will never be forgotten.
