Mary Lopez

Mary Francis Soliz Lopez, 70 of Lubbock went to be with the Lord on Monday, May 25, 2015. Services will be 10:00 A.M., Saturday, May 30, 2015 in The Chapel at Broadway Funeral Directors with Pastor Jesus Cisneros officiating. Burial will follow at Peaceful Gardens Memorial Park under the direction of Broadway Funeral Directors. A Celebration of Life will be held for “Francis” at 7 p.m. on Thursday, May 28, 2015 at Ministerios Nueva Vida. A viewing will take place Friday, May 29, 2015 at The Chapel at Broadway Funeral Directors.

Francis was born July 12, 1944 in Rotan, to Augustine and Maria Soliz. She married Hiram Lopez on July 24, 1968 in Rotan. She worked as a supervisor for over twenty five years for Furrs Quality Control Kitchen. Francis was a blessing to all who knew her. She loved her family and she was the matriarch that bonded them together. A virtuous woman of faith she cared for those in need, and left a legacy of Love, Compassion, Generosity and Joy.

She was preceded in death by a sister Molly Soliz in May of 1989.

Those left to cherish her memory are her husband Hiram Lopez of Lubbock; Her children Anthony (Elena) Lopez of Lubbock, Monique (David) De La Cruz of Arlington, Eric (Angel) Lopez of Arlington, Joseph Valverde of Lubbock, Johnny Saenz of Iowa and Jessica (Eric) Pizana of Lubbock; Six brothers Frank and Fred Soliz of Lubbock, Joe Paul Soliz and Augustine “Junior” Soliz of Rotan, Johnny Soliz of Arizona and Joe Soliz of Brownfield; Five sisters Rosa Almanza of Roby, Diane Reising of Missouri, Donna Gaspar, Delores Soliz and Debbie Soliz all of Rotan. Eleven grandchildren.
