Marylin Faye Morford, 71, passed away May 24, 2018 in Lubbock, TX. A memorial service for Mrs. Morford will be 1:00 pm Sunday, May 27, 2018 in The Chapel of Broadway Funeral Directors with Chaplin Randall Herrera officiating. Arrangements were made under the direction of Broadway Funeral Directors.
Marylin was born November 30, 1946 in Greenville, TX to Virgil Edgar & Ina Faye Lindsey. She lived in Lubbock for many years and graduated from Idalou High school in 1965. She moved to Sherman in 1978 and later married Harold Richard Morford on February 12, 1983 in Denison. She worked for many years as an Administrative Assistant at Austin College and moved back to Lubbock in 2012.
Marylin loved traveling. Working in her garden with flowers and plants. This was a great passion of hers. There were many bird feeders and birdhouses around her property that she enjoyed any day she could. She was very active in Trinity United Methodist church for over 28 years and loved her new church home in Lubbock.
Marylin, better known as Gammie, loved and was so proud of her girls. She doted on and took amazing care of her grandchildren, whom she gave loving nicknames.
She is survived by her three daughters, Jeanie & Jerry Hooper of Corpus Christi, Sherry & Greg Cummings of Pinehurst, Kim & Henry Weissenborn of Hockley; four brothers, Eddie Lindsey of Las Vegas, Billy Mack Lindsey of Splendora, Danny Lindsey of New Caney, Bobby Lindsey of Marble Falls; seven grandchildren; two great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a grandson, Justin Spears; a granddaughter, Stephanie Weissenborn.
