Rosary for Oscar “Big O” Andrade, 70 of Lubbock will be this evening at 7:00 p.m., in The Chapel at Broadway Funeral Directors. Funeral mass will be celebrated on Friday at 10:00 a.m. in St. Joseph Catholic Church with The Revs. Martin Pina, Cornelio Ramirez and Reymundo Manriquez officiating. Interment will follow in Peaceful Gardens Memorial Park under the direction of Broadway Funeral Directors.
Big O passed from this life March 1, 2016 in Lubbock; and was born November 28, 1945 in Mission, TX to the late Manuel, Sr. and Inez Andrade. He was a lifelong resident of Lubbock and married Leonora Martinez on December 3, 1967 in Lubbock. As a faithful member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, he served as Communion Minister and on the Altar Society. He loved to care for others and especially help the poor and those less fortunate. He was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan and worked for Gould’s Pump in the shipping and receiving department. Following retirement he worked for Scoggin-Dickey as a part-time courtesy driver.
He is survived by his wife of Lubbock; by two sons, Amador Andrade and Antonio (Jennifer) Andrade both of Lubbock; four brothers, Leazar “Chapo”Andrade, Manuel Andrade, Jr., Fernando Andrade, all of Lubbock and Juan Andrade El Paso; six sisters, Angelita Salinas, Yolanda Martinez, Josephina Salinas, Alicia Sanchez, Rosalinda Sanchez, all of Lubbock and Mary Ann Sanchez of Mission; twelve grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
The family wishes to express their sincere appreciation to Redbud Dialysis Center and Accolade Hospice for their wonderful care and compassion.
