Rosa Banda, a beloved Pastor's wife who touched the lives of many through her various roles in church and her dedicated service to her family, passed away on April 28, 2024, in Lubbock, Texas. Born Rosa Munoz on February 2, 1938, to Guillermo & Tomasita Munoz in Sinton, Texas, she leaves behind a legacy of love and kindness that will forever be cherished by those who knew her.
Throughout life, Rosa wore many hats within the church community. She served as a Sunday school teacher, a talented seamstress known for creating costumes for pageants and church programs, and a Women's auxiliary leader and advisor. Her dedication to her faith and community shone brightly through all her endeavors.
Aside from her remarkable contributions to the church, Rosa was known for her passion for collecting cherished memories. She found joy in preserving birthday cards, church programs, photos, and trinkets that held sentimental value to her. Her keen organizational skills reflected in every aspect of her life. Moreover, she was an exceptional homemaker who poured her heart into creating a warm and loving environment for her and her husband. One of her favorite pastimes was watching and listening to the Gaither Vocal Band—a source of comfort and inspiration for her.
Those in heaven who she reunites with include her husband, Ramon Banda; four brothers: Jesus Munoz, Guadalupe Munoz Sr., Thomas Munoz, Guillermo Munoz Jr.; and three sisters: Paula Contreras, Maria Munoz, Cesaria Rangel.
She is survived by her sister, Dominga Munoz; numerous nieces and nephews; as well as numerous great and great-great nieces and nephews who will continue to honor her memory with love and admiration.
A Memorial Gathering to celebrate the life of Rosa Banda will be held on May 10th, 2024, starting at 7:00 PM at Broadway Funeral Directors located at 1901 Broadway St, Lubbock, Texas 79401. Friends and family are invited to join together in remembrance of a remarkable woman whose legacy will live on through the lives she touched.
