Raquel Amaya

Raquel Amaya, 57, of Olton, died Sunday, December 19, 2021, in Lubbock, Texas. A private service will be held in her memory by her immediate family and friends.

Raquel was born June 29, 1965, in Plainview, Texas, to Eluterio and Carolina Amaya. A longtime resident of Olton, Raquel attended Olton Schools and eventually graduated from Clarendon High School in Clarendon, TX, in 1983. Raquel had a love for music and traveling. More than anything, Raquel loved her family most. She did not marry or have children, but she treated all her nephews and nieces as her own. Raquel was a giving and thoughtful person, always putting family first.

Raquel will be greatly missed, but we trust in the Lord, we will be reunited in Heaven someday. She is preceded in death by her loving mother, Carolina, and her younger brother, Robert.

Survivors include her father, Eluterio Amaya, of Olton, Rosalinda Roberts of Olton, Ramiro Amaya of Monahans, Rebecca Ramon of Fredericksburg, Victor Amaya of Olton, Luis Amaya of Olton, Alex Amaya of Hereford, Rene Amaya of Lubbock, Lucas Amaya of Lubbock and Janie Amaya of Olton. She was blessed with 22 nephews and nieces.
