Raymond "Moin" Flores

November 12, 1938 — December 25, 2024

Raymond G. Flores, a beloved husband, father, brother, and friend, passed away on December 25, 2024, at the age of 86 in his hometown of Lubbock, Texas, where he was born on November 12, 1938, to Francisco and Eufemia Flores. Raymond's life was a testament to hard work, dedication, and a profound love for his family, church and community.

A proud 1957 graduate of Lubbock High School, Raymond continued his education at Texas Tech University, laying the foundation for a successful career that spanned over 40 years. He was known for his expertise and commitment as a service technician at Armstrong Mechanical, eventually rising to the position of service manager, a role he embraced with passion and professionalism until his retirement.

Raymond's love for sports was well-known and served as a bridge that connected him to friends and family alike. Whether cheering on the Dallas Cowboys, Kansas City Chiefs, or Texas Tech Red Raiders, he immersed himself deeply in every game's thrill. His enthusiasm extended to boxing as well, where he enjoyed watching bouts with friends. Beyond spectating, Raymond was an active participant, relishing the camaraderie found in playing soccer and also playing golf with his senior group at Shadow Hills. His adventurous spirit also led him to travel extensively, seeking new experiences to share with those he loved. One of which where he spent an afternoon with Vicente Fernandez at his ranch, a Mariachi legend who touched the lives of many who heard his story through song.

Raymond's faith was something he cherished fervently.  A proud member of Our Lady of Grace Catholic for over 60 years, Raymond served as a crusillista under Monsignor Gonzales and as a Guadalupano for many years; a role that allowed him to serve his faith, church and the community he lived in.

Raymond married the love of his life, Janie Valdez on March 25, 1961, in Post, Texas. This led to a life of family and a legacy that will withstand the test of time. A devoted family man, Raymond is survived by his cherished wife, Janie Flores of Lubbock; his two daughters, Trina Lewis and her husband Martin of Plainview, Carla Flores of North Richland Hills; his son, Frank Raymond Flores and wife Jenni of Leander. He also leaves behind three beloved sisters and their husbands, Connie & Ernesto Hernandez, Julia & Joe Gonzalez, Janey & Richard Parra all of Lubbock. Raymond was a proud grandfather, graced by the company of seven grandchildren who adored him and filled his life with joy.

Raymond G. Flores will be remembered not only for his professional achievements but for his warm heart, infectious laughter, and unwavering love for those around him. His legacy of kindness, dedication, and family values will continue to inspire all who knew him.
