Rigoberto Corral, beloved son, brother, father, and friend, peacefully passed away on November 28, 2023, in Lubbock. He was born on December 23, 1958, in Chihuahua, Mexico. Rigoberto's deep passion for farming led him to dedicate most of his life to this noble profession. He worked tirelessly in the fields and eventually found himself working as a forklift operator for a local cotton gin, where he continued his passion for agriculture.
Aside from his career in farming, Rigoberto had a wide range of interests and hobbies that brought him joy. He had a profound love for spending time with his family and friends—those cherished moments spent in their company were always special to him. Rigoberto particularly enjoyed attending horse races, indulging in delicious meals, and listening to traditional Mexican music genres such as rancheros, corridos, and norteño.
Rigoberto will be remembered as a compassionate soul who touched the lives of many. He possessed an innate ability to make others feel loved and valued through his selfless acts of generosity. His legacy will forever live on in the hearts of all those fortunate enough to have known him.
He is survived by his three beautiful daughters and their husbands, Lina and Jorge Castenda of Lubbock, Aidé Giselle and Rey Estrada of Fort Worth, Karla and Joey Barajas of Lubbock; one son and his wife, Roger and Sunni Corral of Lubbock; four brothers, Arturo Yanez, Efrain Jacquez, Manuel Jacquez, Ramiro Jacquez; and one sister, Ede Torres. Each individual held a special place in Rigoberto's heart and brought immense joy to his life.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Ramona Corral and one brother, Armando Yanez
Services to honor Rigoberto's life will be 11:00 am Saturday, December 2, 2023 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church with Father Martin Pina officiating. Burial will follow in the City of Lubbock Cemetery under the direction of Broadway Funeral Directors. A rosary will be held at 7:00 pm Friday, December 1, 2023 in The Chapel of Broadway Funeral Directors. Viewing will begin at 11:00 am.
