Robert Rodriguez

Robert Rodriguez, a loving father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend has sadly passed away at the age of 78. He was born in Crystal City, Texas on December 2, 1945 to Mateo and Consuelo Rodriguez. 

Loved dearly by his family and friends, Robert's warm personality and kind heart touched all who knew him. He enjoyed simple pleasures like fishing, bowling, and cheering for his favorite football and baseball teams. The most cherished memories shared by his children are that of his delicious meals and baked goods, he lovingly prepared for them after a long day at work. He was selfless and dedicated to his family as he worked hard to ensure they were never without need. Time spent with loved ones and by the lake with a rod in his hand brought him the greatest joy.

 As a means to provide for his family, Robert was a dedicated farmer for many years in Lynn County and his hard work ethic was evident in the care for his crops. 

 Robert Rodriguez is survived by his two sons, Robert Rodriguez Jr. (wife Rebel) of Colorado, Michael Rodriguez (wife Dana Chavez) of Lubbock. His four daughters, Cynthia Rodriguez of Amarillo, Amanda Rodriguez (husband Armando) of Lubbock, Lori Hanke (husband, Brian) of Missouri, and Valerie Muñoz (husband Luis) of Brownfield. Robert has twenty-two grandchildren and two great grandchildren. 

He is also survived by his two brothers, Pete Rodriguez Sr. of O’Donnell and Armando Rodriguez of Austin.

Visitation will begin at 1:00 pm followed by a prayer service at 7:00 pm Thursday, June 27, 2024, in the Chapel of Broadway Funeral Directors. Services to honor and celebrate Robert's life will be held in The Chapel of Broadway Funeral Directors at 10:00 am Friday, June 28, 2024. Burial will follow in The City of Lubbock Cemetery under the direction of Broadway Funeral Directors.  

 Robert will live on as a devoted father, loving grandfather, and a friend to many. May he rest in peace knowing he was deeply loved and will be forever missed.
