San Juanita Herrera, a beloved homemaker and cherished matriarch, passed away peacefully on December 17, 2024, in Lubbock, Texas, at the age of 71. Born on March 20, 1953, in Beeville, Texas, she filled her life with love, laughter, and a nurturing spirit that touched everyone fortunate enough to know her.

San Juanita dedicated her life to her family, creating a warm and welcoming home where countless memories were made. She married Leon Herrera in Floydada, Texas in 1970 and found joy in simple pleasures, whether it was dancing to her favorite songs, attending concerts, or watching her beloved novelas. Her happiest moments were spent with her family and grandchildren, whose laughter filled her home and brought her immense pride and joy.

She is survived by her loving sons, Peter Herrera and wife Irma, Ray Herrera, all of Lubbock; her two devoted daughters, Mary Helen Herrera, Alice Mata, and husband Eppie, all of Lubbock; one brother, Ramon Rodriguez of Robstown. San Juanita's legacy of love will continue through her seventeen grandchildren and thirty-six great-grandchildren, who will forever carry her spirit in their hearts.

She was preceded in death by her son, Jesse Herrera; her brother, Juan Rodriguez; and her two sisters, Juana Rodriguez and Celia Rodriguez. Their memories will forever be cherished as they remain a part of the beautiful tapestry of her life.

Members of the community and family are invited to celebrate San Juanita's life during the visitation at Broadway Funeral Directors, located at 1901 Broadway in Lubbock, on December 22, 2024, from 2:30 PM to 6:00 PM, followed by a prayer service starting at 6:00 PM. The celebration of her remarkable life will continue the next day, December 23, 2024, in the Chapel of Broadway Funeral Directors at 10:00 AM. 

San Juanita Herrera leaves behind a legacy of love and resilience, and her gentle spirit will be deeply missed by all whose lives she touched.
