Sara Benitez

Funeral services for Sara Benitez 77 of Lubbock will be today at 10 AM at The Broadway Funeral Directors Chapel with Father Martin Pina officiating. Burial will be in Peaceful Gardens  Memorial Park under the direction of The Broadway Funeral Directors.

Sara went to be with the Lord on    Sunday April 10, 2016. She was born on December 24, 1938 in  Runge,Texas to the late Theodoro and Rosa Garcia. She married Donato Vela in 1990 in Lubbock. She was a Catholic, she loved to dance and listen to music. She enjoyed gardening and her favorite plants were her roses. She loved to cook for her family. She is preceded in death by a son Joe Castaneda in 2000

Survivors include her husband Donato Vela of Lubbock, a son Johnny Castaneda (Lorena)of Laredo, five daughters Mary Builtron (Homar) ,     Sylvia Rodriguez, Yolanda "Yogi"  Castaneda (Johnny Duarte), Alice Castaneda, Manuela Robinson (Brian) all of  Lubbock, a daughter in law Linda Castaneda of Lubbock, 15 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, and 1 great great grandchild.
