Lubbock

Shanna Norene King, a vibrant soul who brought warmth and happiness to all who crossed her path, passed away peacefully in her hometown of Lubbock on March 5, 2025, at the age of 49. Born on December 30, 1975, in Lubbock, to Homer Brown and Peggy Bryant, Shanna lived her life with an infectious spirit that left a lasting impact on her family, friends, and colleagues. She married Maurice King on March 4, 2020, in Lubbock and together began a journey that would stand the test of time.

For many years, Shanna served as a dedicated dietary manager. Her commitment to her work was only matched by her love for her family and the joy she found in cooking, a passion that extended beyond her profession. Cooking was not just a job for Shanna; it was a way for her to express her love and care, a medium through which she created heartwarming moments for her loved ones. Whether it was a special family meal or a simple gathering, she poured her heart into every dish, ensuring that everyone felt welcome and cherished.

Music was another passion that filled Shanna's life with joy. She had a unique ability to light up any room with her presence, often seen singing along to her favorite tunes. A true workaholic, she always balanced her dedication to her career with the precious moments spent with her daughters and granddaughter, whom she adored deeply. Her family was her pride and joy, and she cherished every moment she could spend with them, including being a loving grandmother to A'zayLiah Parker.

Shanna's eclectic collection of clowns reflected her playful spirit and her ability to find joy in the little things. She was a ball of joy whose laughter resonated in the hearts of those who knew her, creating fond memories that will last a lifetime.

She is survived by her husband, Maurice King of Lubbock; her parents, Homer Brown and Peggy Bryant; her beloved daughters, Samantha Perez of California and Kloey Freeman of Lubbock. Shanna is also survived by two devoted brothers, Scott Bryant of California and Michael Brown of Lubbock, and one caring sister, LaDawn Bryant of North Carolina, who will miss her presence dearly. Her cherished granddaughter, A'zayLiah Parker of Lubbock, will carry on Shanna's spirit and love.

Preceding her in death were her dear daughter, Cicilie Perez, and her brother, Chris Brown, who will always hold a special place in their family’s heart.

As we remember Shanna Norene King, let us celebrate the laughter, love, and light she brought into our lives. Though she may no longer walk beside us, her spirit will continue to inspire and uplift those who love her. She will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
