Thelma Ream

Loveta Ream went to be with her Lord on January 26, 2018 at the age of 89. She was born November 24, 1928, in Lubbock, Texas to Melvin and Ella Marie (Russell) Gillit.

Loveta married John C. Ream on April 14, 1947 in Portales, New Mexico. They were married for 66 years. She was a homemaker and worked various jobs throughout her lifetime: cafeteria worker, florist, substitute mail carrier, school bus driver, and volunteer. She enjoyed sewing, bird watching, ministering, teaching Sunday School, and spending time with her family. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Ropesville.

Loveta is survived by daughters, Janet Pollet of Ropesville, Marcia and husband Tommy Powe of Shallowater, Pam and husband Jay Talley of Ransom Canyon, and Monica and husband Alan Berry of Hale Center; grandchildren: Chris Pollet of Amarillo; Charles and Ellen Pollet of Las Vegas, Nevada; Cindy Pollet of Ropesville; Kelly and Shelly Powe of Shallowater; Marcie and Keith Snyder of North Bonneville, Washington; Justin and Denise Talley of Stillwater, OK; Matt and Julia Berry of Crosbyton; Nathan and Robin Berry, Jonny Berry and Aaron Berry all of Waco; and 7 great-grandchildren; a brother, Max and wife Jane Gillit of Wolfforth; a sister, Margie and husband Charles Lewis of Lubbock; a sister-in-law, Marilyn Gillit; many nieces and nephews to whom she was like a mother; special friends and caregivers at Wedgewood South and Beyond Faith Homecare and Hospice.

She is preceded in death by her husband; a grandson, Casey Powe; great-granddaughter, Kimberly Pollet; son-in-law, Harry Pollet; brothers Ray Gillit and Wayne Gillit; brother-in-law, Lon Gaut.

Visitation will be held at Broadway Funeral Directors on Tuesday evening from 6:00-7:30 p.m. Graveside services will be Wednesday at 10:00 a.m., in Resthaven Memorial Park.  Memorial Services will be 2:00 p.m., Wednesday in First Baptist Church of Ropesville with grandsons, Rev. Matt Berry and Nathan Berry officiating.
